SUBJECTS & OBJECTS
Art Direction, Photography, Design, Music, and Video.
The Premise
An ongoing personal and curated research archive exploring the philosophical relationship between human Subjects and historical Objects. This project documents the emotional weight, craftsmanship stories, and material histories that elevate ordinary artifacts into cultural milestones.
The Auteur’s Vision
This research framework demands an aesthetic of complete reverence. I treat each documented artifact as a physical piece of history, employing documentary-style photography, strict grid layouts, and expansive contextual text. The creative direction mimics old-world editorial publishing, prioritizing historical accuracy, raw material texture, and slow visual discovery to prove that true luxury is always rooted in storytelling and provenance.

Louys' selected photography explores the intersection of fashion, identity, and nostalgia through carefully composed imagery that feels both contemporary and timeless. Influenced by the visual language of vintage high-fashion advertising campaigns, the work draws on their cinematic elegance, restrained glamour, and evocative storytelling. This project exists as an ongoing exploration of image-making as both documentation and fiction, using fashion as a vehicle to create photographs that feel familiar yet quietly unsettling, blurring the boundaries between editorial, memory, and art.
